Guests to the Gasthof Zum Stern’s restaurant revel in the hearty Bavarian and German fare served there. As Seehausen’s largest restaurant, our establishment is a popular meeting place for locals and tourists alike, particularly in the summer months. Take a seat in our rustic Alpine room, or “Stube”, or outside in the secluded beer garden, and allow us to pamper your palate.
As a traditional restaurant in the Alpine Uplands, the cuisine served by owner Peter Mayerhofer takes its inspiration from traditional Bavarian dishes. Our food is accompanied by delicious Bavarian beer from the Munich-based Hacker-Pschorr brewery.

The cosy atmosphere in our historic restaurant makes guests feel at home right away. Day trippers, hotel guests and locals all congregate in the traditional space, enjoying our tasty cuisine.
In the summer months, we also serve food and beverages in our beer garden – weather permitting.
The restaurant is decorated with a host of items from our native region, as well as antique finds related to the establishment’s history. Our guests are thus treated to a journey back in time, acquainting themselves with Seehausen’s history. It’s the perfect setting in which to savour regional cuisine.

Beer garden
Our beer garden is located in the idyllic courtyard adjoining the house. Sitting in the shade of the gnarly horse chestnuts, visitors delight in its traditional cosiness, as well as in the picturesque views of the village church.
Its relaxed position, excellent parking facilities and delicious food have all made our beer garden a firm favourite in Seehausen am Staffelsee and beyond.
